Vivid Sydney 2017

Vivid Sydney returns bigger, bolder and brighter in 2017 with a new precinct at Barangaroo, an expanded light walk through the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, and the eternal transformation of the of the sails on the Sydney Opera House. Starting on Friday 26 May and running through to Saturday 17 June, Vivid Sydney will light by the city every night from 6pm to 11pm.

The Ferries will be at the heart of the action, carrying thousands of locals and visitors and being one of the centrepiece attractions of the festival. This year, we have teamed up again with Taronga Zoo to bring you 8 giant illuminated animals on the sides of our First Fleet Ferries. Scroll down to learn more and how you can help these critically endangered animals.

Lights for the Wild at Taronga Zoo Sydney will be better, bolder and more beautiful in 2017 with its incredible giant animal light sculptures. Each of the installations tells a fascinating tale about conservation and how Taronga is working to help save 10 endangered animals from extinction over the next 10 years.

For the first time, Lights for the Wild will be a fully interactive and immersive event with a state-of-the-art wristband that lets you become a light for the wild.

Meet the magnificent Sumatran Tiger, the vividly coloured Marine Turtle, a swarm of tiny buzzing bees and a giant Port Jackson Shark that will literally swallow you whole —plus a whole cast of other captivating creatures that will sparkle in the night.
