In early September, we celebrated the annual Festival of Mosman with poetry readings aboard our iconic ferries. Throughout the week, poets, Carol Jenkins, John Carey and Toby Fitch graced Mosman passengers with a range of their own Mosman/Sydney Harbour based poems, as well as historical works from poets such as Kenneth Slessor. Actors, Victor Moore and Emma Briggs read a range of poetry aimed at children on the Saturday morning Taronga Zoo run.
Every year the Festival of Mosman celebrates the area’s vibrant culture through an exciting range of events showcasing Mosman’s harbour lifestyle, community, natural environment and innovative art experiences.
Watch the video below as it explores festival activities, exhibitions and events are taking place throughout Mosman, with highlights including the poetry readings on Sydney’s iconic harbour ferries as well as a Whale Dreaming Ceremony, Concert in the Park, Moonlight Movies, pop-up sculptures and performances and the return of much loved community events such as Pet’s Day Out.
