Origin of Name: Named after the netball player, Anne Sargeant.
Anne Sargeant, is an Australian former netball player. She played in the Australian national team from 1978–1988, captaining the side for six years. She is the first netball player to hold the status of ‘Legend of Australian Sport’ in The Sport Australia Hall of Fame.
The Sydney HarbourCats are a class of catamarans built in 1998 by Norman Wright, Bulimba, Queensland. They operate the Parramatta River services and Inner Harbour services. Both continued the theme of being named after famous Australian female athletes.
