Taronga Zoo Ferry

JOURNEY ON THE Taronga Zoo FERRY

Children chatter like monkeys, urging parents to sit outside or at least upstairs. Hats are on and parents smother their kids in sunblock. It’s full steam ahead for Taronga Zoo, where the animals have the finest views in the world. We disembark to the sounds of whooping gibbons. Crowds hurry for the zoo entrance, keen to ride the cable car. Others turn towards Little Sirius Cove to walk where famous Australian artists came and sketched.

Fantastic day at the zoo, beautiful city views on the ferry ride home. Awesome!

All around, nature flourishes and photographers turn right towards Bradleys Head: so many harbour sites to focus on. The amphitheatre attracts those with nothing but the day to relax into. While walkers choose to wander the path to Chowder Bay or further, sharing the dappled green bush with possums and lizards. The trip home is quieter, kids are drooping. Behind us, in the twilight, a lion roars.
