High on the banks of the Parramatta River between Rydalmere and Parramatta sits the historic Female Orphan School (1813). This stunning building is one of the most significant heritage sites in New South Wales. Now fully restored as a public exhibition space and home for the Whitlam Institute, the building is open for the public to explore and enjoy.

The Parramatta Rivercat operates between Circular Quay and Parramatta. Alight at either Parramatta or Rydalmere Wharf.
From Parramatta Wharf, take the riverwalk (approximately a 15 minute walk).
