Chowder bay

Chowder Bay is named after the whalers who used to make chowder. There’s a lot here for history buffs as the bay used to be a naval base and there’s a number of historic buildings. Here you’ll find cafes and a scuba diving centre. There’s a great beach here if you’re ready for a swim and a good-sized reserve and playground for the kids to run around in.
